Width of nested bookmark folders

Some of my bookmark nested folders do not display in a wide column. I have the extension set to display up to 100 mm wide, but there's no way some of these nested folders are displaying that much space. It seems to be erratic, in that some folders display just fine (nice and wide).

Is there some setting I should check?

FWIW this is on MS Edge Dev version 88.0.692.0, as well as the fully updated Release version 86.0.622.63.
