WebLogic Exporter Version Metric

Open Sarkie opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

There should be a way to get the version of the Exporter itself, maybe a metric...

We are running 2.0.3 and upgradung to 2.0.4 and some are out of sync so would be good to easily see where the versions are.

Also, request that the zip file name also changes, (Unsure about .war naming too)

Currently, have to open the war/lib read name of the .jar

Thanks

I can look into adding this. What do you mean by "out of sync"? And what are you suggesting with regard to zip file name changes?

It seems reasonable to have an easy way to see or validate the version number, but I'm not sure about changing the file name. Changing the file name forces deployment configuration and/or customers to make compensating changes every time a new version is released.

That's ok with filename, at least in the metrics somewhere is fine for now. "out of sync" being across our fleet, so we know where we have old version of the exporter running easily.

I can add that to the standard metrics.

Main now includes a metric, exporter_version which will have qualifiers to indicate the instance and exporter version. It will be included in the next release.
