oci-grafana-metrics the data source does not support alerting queries grafana on OCI datasource

Hi Team,

We have installed the Open source version of Grafana and our data source in OCI but when we're planning to create alerts on the Dashboard we're hitting with this error message "the data source does not support alerting queries grafana" can you please let us know if we can enable alerts on the grafana when we use open source or do we need to use only enterprise version ?

Thats actually a bit silly... This is not the first request. If so, its on your backlog since November 2019...

It's important that this exists, i think it's the basic of a DS maintain support for native alerts on Grafana. Otherwise change OCI integration using Prometheus or other TSDB supported that already implement this. Just to be clear, other cloud vendors implement this properly it's important that OCI go to the same way

HI @MaikiGirardi @MGralike Please have a look into #106. I have changed it so that it can work multiple profile, cross tenancy policy and it supports Grafana 8 with alerting. It is still on developing phase. But you can have a look and try. If you need any help or clarification feel free to let me know.

Has this been taken care. I am unable to create alert rules using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Metrics running Grafana 8, please revert how can I achieve to create alert to slack using the OCI metrics datasource ?

This is still an issue, what is the ETA for this functionality to be made available? As another user mentioned all of the other cloud providers support native alerting with the exception of OCI

We in the process of migrating all of our alerting to Grafana and it was a shame to discover OCI is the only cloud Env we can't alert on.
