Known Linux Issues
Dedicated thread for Linux issues as there's no point in having multiples.
Our Linux maintainer is away for the time being, so any help would be appreciated as these issues are of low priority atm.
Currently known issues
- 0.9-pre4 has issues with Linux in general - Overlay not opening etc.
- Most likely suspect is the swap to ntdll proxy
- Proton keeps overriding our internal Fsr4Update settings and enables FSR4 FP8 for unsupported GPUs which ends up crashing
- Fix is to set
UpscalerIndex=1in OptiScaler.ini, as with FFX SDK 2.0 which comes with bundled FSR 4.0.2, 4.0.2 is now 0
- Fix is to set
Maybe just bundle the INT8 version of FSR4 upscaler and install that instead of the FP8 dll for any non RDNA4 GPU. Since the cat's out of the bag already, I'd expect AMD to provide official INT8 binaries with the next SDK version.
Until AMD provides these binaries, we have no plans to bundle them.
I can confirm the OptiScaler_20250925_132229 dll sent in the Discord server fixed the overlay not opening on Linux
Hi, I tried OptiScaler 0.9-pre4 with No Man's Sky and an AMD 9070XT. Even if it's a Vulkan game I can see spoofing is enabled by default. I tried to change it from the dxgi.ini and dxvk.conf but had no luck either. (maybe my dxvk.conf was invalid)
I'm not sure if it's supposed to work without spoofing since I'm not very familiar with OptiScaler or the game.
Final Fantasy XIV via xivlauncher-rb
OS: CachyOS Kernel: 6.18.0-rc7-1-cachyos-rc Proton version: proton-cachyos (native)

Switching to any upscaler using Dx11wDx12 (Xess, FSR 3x/4x) fails and reverts back to FSR 2 with
CreateDx12Device Can't create device: 80004002 -
Failure occurs on latest git versions of both v0.7 and v0.9
-
Unknown if this is the current behavior in other Dx11 games generally due to proton etc; FSR4 tested working under Win11.
@claybie Saw the same issue with the official launcher, FWIW
