Please describe the issue and steps to reproduce it
Regardless of the selected input upscaler (DLSS or FSR2), the background of the OptiScaler UI when opened is completely black. Installed by extracting OptiScaler_v0.7.7-pre9_Daria.7z contents to /Deep Rock Galactic/FSD/Binaries/Win64 and renamed OptiScaler.dll to dxgi.dll. Copied nvngx_dlss.dll from /Deep Rock Galactic/FSD/Plugins/Nvidia/DLSS/Binaries/ThirdParty/Win64 and renamed to nvngx.dll. Using the latest one from TPU has the same result. Added WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dxgi=n,b" to DRG's launch options.
I have attached
- [X] OptiScaler.log (set
LogLevel=0andLogToFile=truein Optiscaler.ini, zip it if too big) - [X] Screenshot of game folder (where you placed Opti)
- [X] Screenshot of Opti overlay in-game (opens with shortcut, default Insert) OptiScaler.log Game folder screenshot Example ingame recording
Rendering going dark/black screen while Opti Overlay is shown is a known issue on Linux, but currently we have no means to debug it due to no Linux maintainer.

Might as well tell you here instead of opening an issue just for it, RDR2 under Vulkan has the same issue, though you should also know that the latest version of OptiScaler seems to no longer have any other issues whatsoever for me anymore - even with Vulkan (and there were quite a few before actually).
An observation I made, I added amdxc64.dll to my Final Fantasy XIV install that uses optiscaler0.7.7-pre9 and fakenvapi, and I no longer have black background anymore. However, I tried to do this with several other games and they would just crash on startup. I'm thinking it might be because ffxiv is a dx11 game, and the other games I was trying might have been dx12. I'll have to try this with other games to check if this is indeed true.
From what I've seen it's happening on Wayland when using XWayland but doesn't happen on X11.
xwayland and x11 should be unrelated. I've seen both happen (blackscreen and no blackscreen) and I exclusively use wayland.
I've had this happen on Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza (a Dx12 game) but not in Baldurs Gate 3 (a Dx11 game) I tried reproducing this using AMD's own FSR demo but unfortunately the background doesn't turn black for me there in the Dx12 version. The vulkan version doesnt even start up for some reason

What DE/WM are you running?

Plasma wayland
I have another wrinkle to report. It works absolutely perfectly for me on bazzite with an RX 580 and I get the black screen on regular desktop fedora with an RX 6600. Both are KDE/Plasma desktop.

on the same game even?
Yeah tested with Control and Hitman World of Assassination on both
Weird issue.
Using X11 everything is working as should (OptiScaler UI displays properly):
However, on Wayland overlay becomes black and only UI is visible:
This happens both on native Wayland and in Xwayland window - Vulkan WSI should be same as X11 here and I don't get what can also cause the black screen.
I remember RX580 don't have this issue, but probably should check it again.
Anyway, this needs to be reported on the mesa bugtracker, I suppose.
I just upgraded to a 9070 and OptiScaler's background is properly transparent with it. Screenshot
Happens on pre12 (20050630) and pre11 too on a 7900xt. So rdna2 and 3 both have this issue.
