opnsense 23.1.11 frequently hangs on VMware ESXi

Describe the bug
After updating from 23.1.10 to .11 my instance running on VMware vSphere 7.0 (Core i3, 2 GB RAM, 10 GbE Ports, 9 vmxnet Interfaces) hangs frequently with message on the console. The message says that the kern.ipc.nmbufs limit is reached. Seconds before the nmbufs usage was at 10% in the UI (which is the normal level for my system). With previous release this was always stable.
To Reproduce
Can't force a reproduction, but it happens frequently (multiple times a day).
Expected behavior
Stable operation
After several days of constant freezes the situation changed. Now I have reached 36 hours of uptime. I doubt it will be feasible to find the root cause for this erratic behaviour?
Update: 12 hours later the issue striked again.
After downgrading the kernel 23.1.8 the issues hasn't occured for about 7 days of uptime. There seems to be an issue with the 23.1.11 kernel and VMware ESXi.
Not sure what happened here but I'll go for timeout.
