Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

The current plugin, as is, cannot speak with a crystalfontz CFA-635 v1.1

I've tried it with a config that would work to twiddle the LEDs on a linux host, and the config 'works' however the device's LCDs don't actually change..

Describe the solution you'd like

• Some help identifying if the hid kernel module needs to be informed not to grab the lcd or if there's a different issue.
• a lcdproc gui would be nice

Describe alternatives you've considered

patting the unicorn and wishing for this to magically work without mentioning it to anyone. This has not worked thus far, although I do remain hopeful.
