I use .zim files on GoldenDict-ng as dictionaries for language learning. Images are one of the most important parts of Wiktionaries for language learners. For example, a learner of German might find the word "Streichholz" and if the person sees an image, the concept is immediately understood:

without images (nopic 2025-09):

If the image is not available, the learner might not be able to understand at all sometimes. So, eliminating the images is "killing" the Wiktionary on .zim format.
