Display readable language names instead of language codes

Open Lorrainnn opened this issue 6 months ago • 5 comments

Currently, language codes like en, it, fr, etc. are displayed directly in the UI. We should replace them with their full language names (e.g., English, Italian, French) to improve clarity and user experience.

This serves as a pre-step toward full localization.

Could you please share a screenshot of where these codes appears in the new UI, so that we are all on the same page?

Here’s a screenshot showing the current display: The "en" code is currently displayed in the language field instead of English

Got it.

This code must indeed be replaced by the localized language name.

I.e. for French, if UI is in French then fr label must be Français, en label must be Anglais, and so on.

Or as a fallback until UI fully supports localization, label must be the native language name, i.e Français for French, Italiano for Italian

Note that this is the autonym in current locales file.
