What is the idea of permanently removing the /etc/config/squid as from backuped config files?
I understand your one-time intention of restoring the upstream config file, but removing the config file status would mean that any changes made later by the user would also be lost in the next sysupgrade.
Remove the backdoor access and the backdoor access persistence?
Can we get some grown-up to address actual issue in place of picking on how my amateur patch addresses it?
Your change to squid.conf makes sense, but the Makefile change (to conffiles section) does not, as it makes the users' earlier intentional changes to their local squid.conf non-permanent.
Just remove the Makefile change, but also bump the PKG_RELEASE at the same time.
Politely rejecting your kind advice to maintain backdoor persistence.
