Replace Backgroundrb

Backgroundrb is shitty, should we begin considering an alternative? Maybe the next milestone?

Backgroundrb isn't actively maintained anymore (AFAIK) but it is still doing its job. What benefits you're seeing in this? What are the alternatives?

Let's keep in mind that replacing a working infrastructure with a new one should worth the effort. Even tough replacing Backgroundrb here should be simpler than replacing it for OWCPM (see https://github.com/openwisp/OpenWISP-Captive-Portals-Manager/issues/2) personally I disagree with the use of different technologies in different OpenWISP project to achieve the same functionality...

I vote for Sidekiq. Very simple and efficient. Moreover it seems to be very close to a drop-in replacement for backgroundrb.
