The problem of Openstudio model open in sketchup-plugin

Open MrAshin1 opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

When I finished the geometry by using FloorspaceJS, as the image shown below: image image Then I need to add a PV panel on the roof, I can not finish this stage in the OpenStuido application, so I need to export the file and import it to the openstudio-sketchup-plugin. However, the model will shown in Lines, as the image shown below, image image When I click the Add Shading Button, it will show the white face like the following image: image Then, when I want to add the PV Panel on the roof, it will show the following warning: image So, How can I deal with this problem? Hope to receive your reply. Really Thx!!!!!

When you import an OSM into SketchUp and the model turns white like that, it means that the plug-in has failed, no edits you make after that will work. What version of the OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in are you using?

An alternative approach would be to add PV using a measure, like https://bcl.nrel.gov/content/34550614-0c87-44db-9252-0ca0915b1e64, without opening the model in SketchUp.

image The parameters of the setting are just three. I also need to set other parameters like azimuth angle, etc., so I want to know how to deal with the problem of importing an OSM into SketchUp. Thank you!!!

I'm sorry but it might not be possible to bring that model into the plug-in, it might be too complex in some way. You could potentially make a separate OSM with just the PV system, then use a measure to import the separate OSM.
