Change Hashtag links to neis-one.org

Open Discostu36 opened this issue 1 month ago • 7 comments

Problem

Hi, in my opinion linking hashtags in changesets to https://hashtags-hub.toolforge.org/ is not very helpful. Hashtags on social media and hashtags on OSM serve different purposes.

Description

In my opinion it would be more helpful to use https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-changesets because it gives you statistics about the usage of the hashtag on OSM.

What is linking hashtags to that URL though? I'm not aware of anything that would do that - do you have an example?

Oh I thought you meant in a comment. That will be coming from the https://github.com/JOSM/tag2link rules so is outside our control unless we add a rule to specifically exclude it.

Thanks, I have created an issue there.

There are a lot of rules for hashtags in https://github.com/JOSM/tag2link/blob/master/taginfo.json so I'm slightly surprised we're picking one given none seem to have anything that would prioritise them over others.

Does that work? https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=2917744

Nope, it doesn't, because unlike the toolforge site, the resultmaps page doesn't redirect from the hash. But we could also make the tag2link lib drop the hashtags so the hashes end up in the query instead.
