Hm… Unfortunately, the Ctrl + ↑ shortcut only works for a selection of only vertices. If one selects at least one "free standing" node (e.g. a POI or address node) – which is quite likely when using the lasso tool – the keyboard shortcut doesn't do anything.

Now I'm curious. What's your workflow for this?

For instance, all the trails in the forest preserve have now been paved. We need to select all the trails, including all the bridge and tunnel segments, and change their tag all at once, from unpaved to paved.

So we need to select all the ways within the lasso, not all the nodes.

So users might wonder, "How could there only be a way to lasso select the nodes, not the ways?"

(And for the case you mentioned, savvy users might, in the data panel, unselect the interfering data types first, as a workaround, perhaps.)
