In the top left "Openstreetmap" should have a red splash underneath it, saying "iD Editor".

Or at least a ribbon.

Else, well, one must use AI to figure out if we are looking at the OSM website or the iD editor.

Sure, a few people have nice fat tabs on top of their browser window.

But your average person has so many tabs open that each tab is only a couple of millimeters wide, not even enough for the favicon.ico to show up, (not that that would help either, as they are both the same, which I recall I another issue.)
