Floor field too wide, housenumber too narrow
Are you sure Floor needs such a wide field, at the expense of the housenumber?
Let's check how many digits it would take to cut off:
addr:housenumber=7之12號
addr:housenumber=123456
Well in the USA house numbers get that large, and even have N,W,S,E in them between the digits too sometimes.
Since when does floor need that much room?
Hey mom, I'm on the 123456th Floor.
Well, OK, "mezzanine" floor. But, well, we can be like the elevator button: "M".
Hi @jidanni I’m new to contributing in open source and would like to take this issue. Could you assign it to me?
Hi Priyanka, like a lot of volunteer-driven open source projects, we generally don’t assign issues. Instead, please feel free to submit a pull request for any uncontroversial issue once you have something ready for us to review, or a draft PR if you would like some early feedback. Please note that only maintainers and collaborators can assign or review anything in a repository. (See the badge in the upper-right corner of any comment.)
for anyone who wants to solve this issue, widths for TW can be defined in data/address_formats.json like this example:
