Create a list of open source projects maintained by people from an under represented group

  • [ ] Use twitter to ask people if they know a project - use a nice hashtag for it?
  • [ ] Store the list somewhere: in a page of the website?

Yes, as said this is a great idea! :)

Maybe it would be ideal to already start out with a small list? And should we list only the project or also specifically the maintainer(s)?

  • Nextcloud desktop client (right @camilasan?) ;)

We could either put it as a subsection or a separate page. (Or both – listing a first few directly in a subsection and then if it becomes too much list them on a separate page?)

I really like this idea! 👍 I agree that getting started with a small list is a good first step to then add onto.

Maybe a possible hashtag could be #underrepresentedinOSS or something along those lines?

@alicetragedy we could collect an initial list at our next coworking – and then also write a tweet to ask people for more? :) Maybe for the tag just using #opensourcediversity is simpler?

I am closing this issue as stale - if we want to work on it, we can reopen it again
