Add details about Discourse and Open Collective on the website
On Twitter we have the links to Discourse and OpenCollective, but not on the website.
Also the bottom part for the homepage duplicates itself, so we might want to merge the "Contact us" with the Footer.
Note that the merging is already mentioned in ticket #110.
k - in this case the issue remains about mentioning the 2 services
We also just talked in the call about putting an OpenCollective embed on the frontpage. That would be nice to thank everyone and also show that people can donate. :)
cc @ei8fdb @elioqoshi @belenbarrospena @AnXh3L0 @victoria-bondarchuk @gillisig who were in the call.
Here for example is a project which integrated it on the readme: https://github.com/gulpjs/gulp/#want-to-contribute And another one https://github.com/apex/apex#sponsors
And here are some widgets they offer: https://opencollective.com/widgets
I do remember seeing a nicer integration on a website, I think it was on http://apex.run/ at the bottom but itβs not loading for me currently.
The widgets on the Apex website load up for me and they look indeed great :)
I will keep this in mind when proposing the new site design

I don't have enough knowledge to add the buttons
@peaceiswithislam What knowledge are you missing? Do you need the links for the buttons?
Should the Opencollective link (I assume https://opencollective.com/opensourcedesign) use an Opencollective widget, or should the design be consistent with the other buttons of the footer (twitter, github, forum...) ?
@Jc-L using the Open Collective widget would be great to directly show all supporters! :) We already do this in the Readme and should do it on the website too. Is it something you would like to work on?
@jancborchardt Sure, but I need to clarify if we should we solve #110, as the 'Contact Us' section is totally redundant with the page footer. Once clear, I can add an opencollective like where needed (ie: the 'Contact us' and/or the page footer).
Ok looks like the original issue here got solved because I see open collective and discourse forum on the main page:

But it seems the comments started to talk about open collective widgets and there's also something about the duplication on the bottom section of the website and the footer...I think these need to be separate issues and this one could be closed?
