A low-res representation while moving the camera?

Open xeolabs opened this issue 9 years ago • 0 comments

Running BIMSurfer on a low-spec machine (a Chromebook), the frame rate for a large model is pretty low (10FPS).

Would it be a good idea to render some sort of low-detail representation while the camera is moving, to then render detail when the camera is at rest?

This could be something that only happens when the frame rate is found to be below some threshold. Could be a single fast-rendering geometry that is built from the most outward-facing elements of the model, like a sort of simplified convex hull, maybe wireframe.
