so multiple layers in one IfcProducts have seperated geometry

Is there any particular file/element you have in mind where this is supposed to work?

Benefit: Probably even more abilities to re-use geometry [1]

Less nice: More fragmented draw operations for separate items reduce performance

[1] keep in mind that due to openings and placements (and sliced material layers if enabled), some checks are needed to determine what things can be re-used. Layer associations, openings, ... are all determined on the product level.
