[BUG] Leading and trailing spaces are captured in the Backend roles added in mapped users

Open ps48 opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

What is the bug? Leading and trailing spaces are captured in the Backend roles added in mapped users. It is really difficult for a user to know that permissions have gone wrong due to this issue. Also, when users looks at the UI in mapped users table it doesn't show the actual spaces saved.

How can one reproduce the bug? Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Security dashboards home
  2. Click on roles and add a new one.
  3. Add a mapped user with backend role (include spaces before and after)

What is the expected behavior? Leading and trailing spaces should be trimmed out while adding a BE role to the mapped users.

What is your host/environment?

  • OS: AL2/Linux
  • Version 2.11
  • Plugins Security plugin

Do you have any screenshots?

[Triage] Thanks for filing - this would be a good improvement for the backend to trim these values.
