Setup alarms for website availability
Setup alarms and escalation to avoid incidents like https://github.com/opensearch-project/project-website/issues/126#issuecomment-857703555.
Yesterday there was a configuration issue directing traffic to http instead of https, that issue could have been detected much faster if we had alarms in place.
@AMoo-Miki What do you think on this issue?
@nateynateynate as you work to learn the back end of the website processes, do you want to look into / consider a solution on this one?
If the alarm is to check if the website is accessible, our webhost provides that.
However, I don't believe that will help the above mentioned problems in anyway. A suitable solution would traverse the website and raise an alarm if too many pages fail to load. Load times wouldn't need to be ties to the to alarms as the website is a static website.
This will be in the hands of the linux foundation pretty soon. I'm going to sweep this one up.
