Hopefully it’s clear this PR is in draft mode, still being worked on...I was trying out the draft mode and “fixes” features for the first time :)
Also I love the new dark/dimmed theme here!
Yeah, sorry, just figured it was worth making the connection to #338 explicit from this end as well.

@iangilman I can get the basic overhaul in for 3.0.0...that’ll cover the related tickets I’ve self-assigned. Will have a PR in the next few business days

@msalsbery How are things going here? We're thinking about doing the 5.0.0 release soon, so I think I'll remove this patch from the 5.0.0 milestone if that's okay with you.
@iangilman I have been monkeying with XHR issues/enhancements (which I am wrapping up, not a big deal there) so I don't mind if I have to slip this in right after 5.0.0 release if necessary.
