ROS 2 support?

i haven't tried this yet, but: the README mentions ROS 1 in several places (it talks about catkin, rosrun, etc.). however ROS 1 is EOL since May 2025 and ROS 2 has been available for a few years. is this also compatible with ROS 2 or are there any plans to make it compatible with it?

ros2 is already supported. (relevant code: 1, 2)
