Description
The ~~GoogleDocs spreadsheet~~ JHOVE wiki details all of the PDF-hul module's error messages. The "Impact" field is used to record the impact of the error. By impact we mean what effect the error may have on a user's ability to open or render the PDF with suitable software (e.g. how might Adobe Reader, or Nitro Reader handle a file that JHOVE has flagged with the particular error), or any other preservation-related consequences to the error existing in a document.
Is there a preferred Impact range you would like to use? High, Medium, Low? Critical, Non-Critical?
Hi Tyler, thanks for helping out.
We don't have a well-defined scale at this point in time, but instead are looking for more detailed descriptions of the possible impacts of an error. See the WAVE-hul wiki page for some examples. Impact descriptions need not be as in-depth as some of those, however, even just describing the results of tests with popular readers would be helpful.
