can not invite users to instance

I can not invite users non openlaw.io and mesh.xyz emails to instances, for example if I enter in a gmail or yahoo address, the invite does not show up in my inbox. https://lib.openlaw.io/web/maplefinance is the instance I'm trying to send out invites.
