Pre-requisite knowledge

Chrome DevTools frontend provides features beyond a JavaScript debugger. Its features like network inspection, target automatic discovery, and performance analysis are familiar with web developers. It would be helpful for attendees to have familarity with these features.

We will walk through how Node.js could provide better integration with these Chrome DevTools frontend features.

Working in progress improvements:

  • Network inspection: https://github.com/nodejs/node/issues/53946
  • Automatic worker discovery: https://github.com/nodejs/node/pull/56759

Describe the session

We'll talk about how can we improve the integration, like exposing undici's network traffic to the DevTools.

The draft agenda is in https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_FNNbKYcc032NIUqeJ3SZP3PM71aYMuv9D5JbwaS9Iw/edit?usp=sharing (it's not final). If you have any comments, it would be easier to coordinate in the #collab-summit-paris-2025 slack channel

@jakecastelli It's currently set in 13:30 CET on the second day, would that work for you or would you prefer to move it to the morning in CET (which would be earlier for you?).

13:30 CET will be 22:00 for my local time which is prefect 👍
