Node.js Collaboration Summit 2025 / Paris

• Date: April 1-2, to be close to when dotJS happens. During the night of 1st we'll have an additional meetup to connect with the local developer community.
• Venue: Datadog's office (21 Rue de Châteaudun), enter from the corner gate at the intersection between Rue de Châteaudun and Rue Laffitte (Google map street view). The meetup on the night of 1st would be in Sanofi's office (46 Av. de la Grande Armée) (18min away by metro)
• Cost: no fee required for attending in person.

Everyone on site are expected to raise hands via Zoom to get in the same queue as the remote participants to speak. We will pass microphone around on site to avoid cutting the line too much. You can leave a message with your email in the #collab-summit-paris-2025 slack channel if you want to be invited as a panelist beforehand instead of waiting for a promotion during the session, or DM Joyee via the OpenJS slack or the contact in her profile.

I have confirmed that we can host at Datadog Paris for April 1-2. We have room booked for 40 people. Breakout rooms are possible, pending availability. I'm working on catering, but that will of course be easier once we have final numbers.

Some notes from the TSC meeting today:

1. We decided the summit will take place on April 1-2, in Datadog's Paris office
2. @sheplu offered to also organize a meetup to connect with the local developer community in Sanofi's office during the night of 1st
3. We have 30 responses in the survey, 3 of them are invalid (not coming at all), 21 are certain to come for a summit in April 1-2 in Paris (20 if it's other dates in that week).
4. In the survey results, 4 indicated they would need <500 USD from the travel fund to come, 2 would need 500-1000 USD, 8 would need 1000-2000 USD and 1 would need >2000 USD.
5. The total amount of travel fund budget needed would be in the ~20K range if everyone goes to their estimated upper limit. That's a bit on the higher end, considering we need to share the budget with other projects and there's another summit planned in H2, so possibly not every request would be granted, especially the ones that would need a higher amount. @mcollina will give a heads up to the CPC/foundation.

Please submit your session proposal before March 25. If you intend to attend remotely, you can watch this repository temporarily for new proposals and if you find a session you are interested in, you can leave a comment in the issue indicating your timezone and your scheduling preference.

We'll need the proposals and the remote scheduling constraints ready early to arrange the agenda. So please submit your proposals at your earliest convenience or otherwise it may be difficult to fit them well in the agenda for remote participants to attend.

The draft agenda is almost settled now (módulo what’s to be done for the big free block on the day 1 morning). We will add events to the Node.js calendar for the planned sessions. We have stopped the registration because we are reaching the capacity of the venue.

I've added Zoom webinar links to the schedule, and sent panelist invites to all the people registered to attend on site, since we'll be using Zoom to raise hands before we speak so that people on site are in the same queue as remote participants.

I updated the schedule to clarify that the venue is open from 8:30am - we won't have anything planned until 10:30, so it's not obliged to show up early, but if you are interested in breakfast + coffee + hallway track, feel free to arrive early and get to know each other a bit :)
