Code of conduct refers to "project maintainers"
The JOSS code of conduct (https://github.com/openjournals/joss/blob/master/CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md) refers to "project maintainers" (under "Our Responsibilities"). The contributor convenant was originally written for software development projects, where this makes sense, but for JOSS, this should be "editorial board" or something similar. The term "project maintaintes" could even be misunderstood as the maintainers of the software projects that are the subject of a submission.
Note that more recent versions of the contributor convenant refer to "community leaders" instead. That's mode widely applicable, but also rather vague. A public commitment is more credible if it is clear who actually endorses the responsibility.
