I get 61 (mobile) & 95 (desktop) on https://next.openhab.org/ which is using VuePress v1 instead of v0.95.

I've seen these reports and the home page is definitely on the heavy side, we could balance the weight vs. the marketing message we'd like to convey, for example probably reduce the list of logos.

For another typical page apart from the home page, like https://next.openhab.org/docs/, I get resp. 87/100 and 98/100 which is not that bad IMHO.

I think reducing the number of images is a good idea. IMO they're too many anyway. Also setting a cache policy on images (e.g. one week TTL) and resizing them to the actual used size should be fine.
