Support for critical push messages

Open oeiber opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Would be great if there were support for ios‘s critical pushmessages, because the user receives the messages wirh notification tone even the phone is muted or in do not disturb mode. In my case it would especially usef for fire alarms.

It would also be great if there were an additional field for pushserver‘s address for those who want to to cnnect to their own oh instances directly and wants to receive push messages using myopenhab.

thank you!

Critical alerts require an entitlement by Apple. Principally they target healthcare, public safety, security and related issues. I am skeptical that openHAB with a broad set of usage will be obtain the entitlement. But let's try

I think this should be no problem. Home Assistant offers also the ability of critical push messages...

That is a very good argument

To my second question: Would it be possible to register an ios device to myopenhab‘s push notification service without configuring myopenhab.org as internal or external host? maybe the settings can be discovered using the oh cloud thing settings automatically? thank you!
