Extended characters (e.g. Å, Ä, °) via myopenhab

When creating things, channels and items in OpenHAB 3.0.1 main UI via myopenhab extended characters like ä,ö or ° get replaced with "?" when saving the configuration. Editing locally they work perfectly.
