Clip non-editing layers to extent when packaging.

There is a setting Only copy features in area of interest which seems to apply only to layers assigned the Offline editing action. Is it possible to expand this to all vector layers assigned the Copy action for Cable Export packaging? Editing of these layers is not required.

Why? I set up my project using statewide base datasets like roads, then zoom to the area I'm going to visit and package that area. Currently the Only copy features in area of interest option is ignored for layers that don't have the offline editing action and are copied in their entirety. So to reduce file size etc, it would be great to automatically clip/select only the required features while packaging for QField. Most areas I visit have poor or no mobile internet so Cloud packaging isn't an option.
