Add a way to have "draft" product pages on the producers platform, for simulations

Open stephanegigandet opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

What

  • Some producers tell us they would like to use the producers platform to test different recipes for future products, see the impact on Nutri-Score etc.
  • But today the platform is for the current existing products, and new possible future products / experiments should not be exported to the public database.

Proposed solution

  • 3 years ago we planned to have a separate pro platform for experiments, but maybe a simpler way would be to allow producers to mark products as "drafts", and those products would not be exported.

I like the idea of draft products. A small workflow is really useful. This could be a "state".

This issue is stale because it has been open 90 days with no activity.

Interesting idea. I've very rarely had the case and when it happens, producers make a test and delete it before exporting to the public database. But maybe it will be more useful with the Nutri-Score v2 and the new environmental display coming in 2024.

I also see it as a way for the producers to be more in control, and eventually send data they are sure about more rapidly.
