When searching for crops on the home screen, don't list results that seem really irrelevant.
Thanks @sophiakc for pointing this out.
As a casual user I'd be surprised to see those kind of results. Can we limit them somehow?
Rules suggestions for the suggested search results:
- show maximum 5 suggested results
- if expression is "cherry tomato", identify that tomato is the main word and cherry its attribute, and display suggested result as follow:
Suggested Result1: closest expression to the input "cherr tom" or "cherry tomato" e.g. "Cherry tomato" - growing guide
Suggested Result2: closest expression to the input "cherr tom" or "cherry tomato" e.g. "Cherry tomato" - crop
Suggested Result3: family of the main word e.g. "Tomato"
Suggested Result4, 5: most qualitative content containing the main word (guides, visits...)
DO NOT show suggested results if:
- Contain the main word attribute (e.g. cherry) but not the main word (e.g. tomato): e.g. "queensland cherry"
- No guide?
Hmm, I don't know about mixing and matching different types of results. Would that be confusing to users?
What do you mean?
Your suggested result1 is a different type from result2. Result1 is a growing guide and result2 is a crop.
Would users expect to see results of two different types here?
This is how it would look like:
'+' an additional option to be even clearer, could be to add a specific icon (on the left of the suggested result) whether it is a crop, a guide, a family crop...
@sophiakc what does the "(9)" mean next to the guide? Or is that just how many guides there are? Why not just list it under the crop then (because both of those links would go to the same page at the moment).
yeah (9) would be the number of guides Crop could be suggested first. Even though it is now leading to the same page, it would be important to keep them separated in the suggested results list.
@sophiakc why would that be important? Wouldn't it confuse the architecture of the site?
