When can I expect my changes to be merged?
Our goal is to get community contributions seen and reviewed as efficiently as possible.
However, the amount of time that it takes to review and merge a PR can vary significantly based on factors such as:
- The size and impact of the changes that it introduces
- The need for product review
- Maintenance status of the parent repository
:bulb: As a result it may take up to several weeks or months to complete a review and merge your PR.
@e0d Here the problem is apparently not in the tests themselves
@DmytroAlipov rerunning seems to have fixed the failure, will also update the branch.
Hi @openedx/teaching-and-learning! Would someone be able to review/merge this for us? Thanks!

Hi @openedx/teaching-and-learning! Just following up on this.
Hi @DmytroAlipov - flagging the new tests that have popped up per the recent update: https://discuss.openedx.org/t/minor-change-to-edx-platform-check-statuses/11131
done
Hi @openedx/teaching-and-learning! Friendly ping on this.
Hi @openedx/teaching-and-learning! Following up on this for review.
@mphilbrick211 @DmytroAlipov I can help review this PR as CC.
Thank you, @navinkarkera!
@DmytroAlipov Can you add a bit more context in the description. Were these variables missing before? Why don't we use the whole message_context from get_base_template_context
function instead of getting these variables one by one?
param_dict.update(message_context)
Hi, @navinkarkera
There is no required context for openedx/core/djangoapps/ace_common/templates/ace_common/edx_ace/common/base_body.html
:
-
homepage_url
-
logo_url
-
dashboard_url
-
platform_name
-
contact_email
There is no point in transmitting the entire message_context
since we need a limited number of parameters.
@DmytroAlipov Apologies for delay in response. contact_email
doesn't seem to be used anywhere in base_body
, are we using it in some other template?
Hi @navinkarkera
Yes, this is not used. I may have transferred this from our developments and we used it.
If this parameter interferes too much, I can remove it. But if it’s not critical, then let it remain.
@navinkarkera Friendly pign.
@DmytroAlipov Thanks for the reminder.
All the examples of base template context seems to use the whole context instead of picking some values from it as the base template infact makes use of these variables. For example: social_media_urls etc.
I am not able to understand your reasoning behind selecting some of the variables here.
Hi @DmytroAlipov @navinkarkera - is this still in-progress?
