processed counters in ISIS

We would like to know the meaning of processed counters in isis model. YANG Path: /network-instances/network-instance/protocols/protocol/isis/interfaces/interface/levels/level/packet-counters/*/state/processed

we have two interpretation of the processed counters.. Can you guys please clarify which one of them is correct?

  1. Processed counters is the number of received packets which are not dropped ie (received - dropped)?
  2. Processed counters is the number of received packets which have been processed by the system meaning the packet has been accepted or dropped?
