system build requirements question

Wondering - - - - directions are for debian 8 and we are within 6 months of the freeze on debian 11. Debian 8 has been deprecated and long term support ended some months ago. I haven't tried following the instructions using debian 10 so I'll ask.

Are the directions the same using debian 10 as on 8?

I have more of an add-on question. When will support for Debian 11 be integrated? I am also curious how the migration to newer Debian bases occurs. I have started tinkering in the build system, but if anyone can give some guidance that would be very much appreciated.

We are working on the Debian 11 update, there are some issues due to needing to refactor the build system for Python 3.

Ah, yes I noticed the current build system uses python2 which bit me the first time I tried to build the project. Is there a development branch I can follow?
