Questionnaires Not mandatory for applicants to fill

Open KamalJoshiDelhi opened this issue 9 years ago • 11 comments

Hi Team, I have associated questionnaire to some of my job orders on my live site... While applying, the applicants could still hit the submit button without filling anything in the questionnaire... There is no check to see if the applicant has actually answered the questions put up in the questionnaire...

I would rather not attach a questionnaire to a Job order than let people apply despite not answering those questions asked...

Is there any way to make the answering of each question (or even better if while framing the Questionnaires we can make the chosen questions mandatory)... Also for Dropdowns by default the answer should not be chosen as the first option in the list, rather it should be a blank or a text that says 'Choose from the list' or something...

Can we have something on this ASAP as my site is live and the responses I get as answers to the Questionnaires are really meaningless?

Hello Anyone has any comments on this????

Hi Kamal,

I'm always slow to respond on issues to do with candidate questionnaires. Have never used them in anger. However I believe you can / could mark questions as mandatory and also setup rules for multiple choice answers and a work-flow to automatically reject applicants if the answer wasn't 'xxxx'.

Can you confirm - you are marking questions as mandatory but the candidate can still skip them?

Hi Russ, :) Thanks for your response... I am not able to mark them mandatory while framing the questionnaire and could not see any way to NOT take an application in case the candidates has not answered the questions... In fact what is happening is that while applying the questions that have a dropdown by default show the first answer in the list as the answer from the candidate and automatically logs in that answer if the candidate clicks on the submit application button without even looking at the questions... I am enclosing the screen below for you to see how the questionnaire landing page is appearing currently while applying for a position...

If I click on the continue button on the screen without doing anything further, it will accept a blank as answer for my 1st question which has a text area for them to answer... for all other questions whatever is selected is logged in as answer from the candidate... I hope you are able to get what I am saying... BTW I can try to create a job order and a questionnaire on the demo site and check if what you said is working there or not...

Well I just now tried the Demo site but could not add the Questionnaire to the JD... I guess none has been created yet... :(

Hey Russ, Could someone look into this???

KamalJoshiDelhi avatar Oct 21 '16 18:10 KamalJoshiDelhi

Is there any way to search candidates on the basis of answers provided in the Questionnaire?

KamalJoshiDelhi avatar Nov 07 '16 15:11 KamalJoshiDelhi

Any update on issues related to letting us make the questions mandatory in a Questionnaire? and also on a facility to perform a search on the basis of answers provided by candidates to one specific question or a set of questions, while applying for associated job order(s)...

@KamalJoshiDelhi Did you figure out a solution?

I've added a test questionnaire to the demo site so you can play. I see there's a 'submit button' visible that you can click at any point during the questionnaire - I assume Kamal wanted this only to work once the entire questionnaire is completed.

RussH avatar Apr 11 '19 12:04 RussH

As the applicants manage to hit the visible 'submit button' anytime after they reach the questionnaire page or anytime midway before completely answering all the questions, the relevance of the questionnaire was getting lost and thus I was looking to make sure that a candidate has answered all the mandatory questions in a questionnaire before they are allowed to hit the submit button... I could not find a way to make or specify a question as mandatory in the questionnaire and thus I could not check if the questionnaire is giving me right information for the applicants...
