Question: custom IR remote key mapping?

I've acquired an IR remote with qwerty keyboard on one side as well as the standard box (channels/volume/etc.) remote on the other.

Is it possible to get Enigma2 to recognise these keypresses? Perhaps some debug trick to listen to commands?

I believe that one of the OpenVision developers has been doing work in this area. I will raise this thread with them to see if they can help.
