Different Possible source for IN data

Open RocketD0g opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

From community:

Here is one potential source of ~50 stations in India. This file doesn't provide the lat/lon location data for the stations but is the only and therefore best source without scraping the CPCB site.

https://data.gov.in/catalog/real-time-air-quality-index https://data.gov.in/resources/real-time-air-quality-index-various-locations/download

Note from me: Looks like files give physical unites even though link says 'air quality index' 👍

This looks great. If only the coordinates were in the resource. But, it looks like we can replace the scraper in the long run.

The heading says AQI, but the units inside are concentrations units; still missing leading though, for some stations it looks like AQI, but for some AQ. This needs to be verified before any use.

Refreshed website: data.gov.in api

  • difficulty with login but has a default api key
  • pulls from CPCB data

The login now works and we have an API key. The API does not return coordinates or units for the stations, so a list will need to be built from CPCB's main site, which uses CAPTCHA. The station list would need to be updated manually from time to time.

data.gov.in is AQI only (and not AQ data). Please check before getting historical data from here.
