Warn on high autosens ratio

Open scottleibrand opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

Per @rsilvers129's suggestion, having an autosens ratio above 1.15 may be a good indication of the need to change a pump site. To facilitate evaluation of whether this is reliably true, it might be good to add the autosens ratio to the pump pill in NS, and have it trigger a color change like a low reservoir or low pump battery does. Maybe red for >= 1.15 or so (resistant), and yellow for < 0.9 or so (sensitive)?

I have a plugin that logs my autosens value every 15 minutes. Here is my sensor going bad over 2.5 days, which was approximately 130 units of FIAsp. Tim thinks that his sites go bad based on the number of units passing into the area, not based on hours. I find that very interesting. I am going to work to correlate it to hours and units and see if that holds true for me also.

I would'nt do yellow for sensitive and red for resistant as every other part of the user interface uses yellow as a progression toward red. If there is a way to use another color, like bright blue for sensitive, then that would be best. If there is no way to do that, then I would use yellow for 1.1 or 1.5 and red for 1.2. Bonus would be if these were Heroku variables defaulting to something. Bonus bonus if it would send a Pushover on the warning (which I am already doing with custom code).

Another good feature would be to have another setting in preferences called autosens_bolus_correction [true|false]. If true, and autosens were at 1.2, and you did a manual bolus for 10 units, the rig would add in another 2 units as an SMB.

One thing I noticed - I have never gone above 1.20, and yet I have this setting: "autosens_max": 1.75,

Does that mean there is a bug in the code?

Here is the tail of my log showing the progression. I am actually going to wear this another day just to see if it goes back down to 1. Maybe it is not a bad site. I want to prove that it is before removing it.

BTW, the insulin seemed to still be good after 5.5 days. It was only the site, as changing the insulin with the same site did not make autosens go low. And changing the site with the same insulin did make autosens go back to 1.

So I have not removed the infusion site yet, and my sensitivity went back down. 73 hours on it so far (3 days). And it is not even clear if I did replace it, it my sensitivity would have gone down faster than it did by just doing nothing.
