I'm submitting a ..

  • [ ] Bug Report
  • [X] Feature Request

Current behavior: On sponsor section at https://events.opensuse.org/conferences/conferencePageSample/

Platinum Sponsor [sponsor 2] [sponsor 1]

Custom Sponsor [sponsor 4] [sponsor 3]

On admin https://events.opensuse.org/admin/conferences/conferencePageSample/sponsors order:

  • [sponsor 3] custom
  • [sponsor 4] custom
  • [sponsor 2] platinum
  • [sponsor 1] platinum

Expected behavior: On sponsor section at https://events.opensuse.org/conferences/conferencePageSample/

Platinum Sponsor [sponsor 1] [sponsor 2]

Custom Sponsor [sponsor 3] [sponsor 4]

On admin https://events.opensuse.org/admin/conferences/conferencePageSample/sponsors the sponsor list need a kind of position or sequence like on page https://events.opensuse.org/admin/conferences/conferencePageSample/sponsorship_levels so that we can put the sponsor list as we want

@cho2 some of the link you put are not accessible. If I understand right, you want a way to decide in what order the same type of sponsor is displayed? I am afraid that complicates the UI more than necessary. @bear454 @ddemaio what do you think?

@cho2 this issue is not a priority issue (taken into account that there are some broken functionalities) and need some discussing, so unless you send a PR do not expect a fix in the UI soon. We can find a work a round for the conference though (let me know exactly how it should look like in that case).

@Ana06 change conferencePageSample on link with oSC19 or summitasia19.

Yes.

For example on https://events.opensuse.org/conferences/oSC19 screenshot-events opensuse org-2019 04 29-20-15-23

But, i want the order like this screenshot-events opensuse org-2019 04 29-20-17-22

How can i do this?

@cho2

How can i do this?

you can not, but I may be able to come with a work around (at least I can check), but you need to tell me how it should look like (you are organizing summitasia19 and not oSC19, right?).

@Ana06 only summitasia19. Thanks Ana

@cho2 I believe this is done alphabetically, so certainly a feature request like to suggested. There really doesn't seem to be a way around it at the moment unless you number them in the order you want as a work around.

:+1: Yeah we should be able to use the positioning just like in Sponsorship levels

@cho2 let me know how it should look like and I'll try to fix it with a work around. As said, this is a nice feature (which would need some discussion about the design), but there are many other priority things (such as bugs that break the application), so I don't expect this to be implemented soon.

Finally, we use the number to arrange a sponsor. For example

screenshot-events opensuse org-2019 08 04-08_35_47

We use [1. openSUSE] [2. SUSE] [3. Simplify8]

If we do not use a number, the order will be alphabetically [openSUSE] [Simplify 8] [SUSE]

@cho2 This is actually a nice solution :rofl:
