Add Influx Client as Metric Exporter
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Currently OpenTelemetry does not provide a default InfluxDB Exporter. Since we would like to add an InfluxDB Exporter to the inspectIT Ocelot, we would like to contribute to Open Telemetry and add this exporter to the project.
Describe the solution you'd like The exporter would use the Influx Java Client and would integrate it similar to the OTLP Metric Exporter to ensure a seamless integration into OTLP.
Additional context I already opened this issue in the opentelemetry-java repo.
hi @MariusBrill! this sounds like a good fit for this repo. we just ask that you or someone else sign up to be a "component owner" for the new component. Ideally it's good to have two (or more) component owners from at least two different companies, but this is not required.
Hi @trask , sure i will sign up to be the owner! I would also have colleagues who i think would love to be owners too, however they work at the same company as i do. I will talk to them and will get back to you. However, if anyone else reading this would like to too take ownership, i would be happy to share! I think it's a good policy to spread ownership across companies in an open source project!

@MariusBrill what is the status on this? Did work ever start for this component?
