@KiranmayiB thank you for your interest in the OTel community! The community membership requirements detailed here require all members to be existing contributors. Part of the membership request process is to list out some of the ways you've contributed such as Issues, Pull Requests, or Code Reviews.

If you haven't contributed anything yet, no worries. Take some time to go make a couple contributions and then come back to this issue and share them. If you'd like to become a code owner for the Cloud Spanner open-telemetry exporter that would be a good place to start, but any contributions made anywhere in the OpenTelemetry project would count.
