Regex Namespace selection in Mutation AssignMetadata with value retrived from an API

I would like to dynamically mutate namespaces based on regex to assign a Value retrieved from an API (specifically Rancher ProjectIDs)

Can you give us an example of this? I'm not sure what value the regex is extracting, what the inputs/outputs would be, etc.
