need way to run Open MPI trivial tests with python client

With the perl client, there is a "built-in" set of trivial tests based somewhat on the content of the ompi/examples directory in the Open MPI source code. The way its done in the perl client is rather suboptimal - actually embedded in the perl code. Nevertheless it would be nice to have a similar capability to test the contents of the ompi/examples directory.
