Potential 'News' section

We talked about this last year, but with re:Invent looming, I wanted to re-open this topic for discussion. Should we have a 'News' section? I would see that product announcements THAT WE ARE INTERESTED IN could be highlighted here.

Also I think that 'reporting from re:Invent' would be useful - maybe in the same section?

Other opinions?

I wouldn't put it in the README.md. As I see it the guide is not about news. It would also need somewhat prompt merging of pull requests, otherwise it's no longer news, which is an extra effort.

A different document in the same repo, maybe. A document that can move fast. News from that document could be removed from it as they are integrated into the guide. Or not. But I wouldn't put that section inside the guide.
