Fix Crashes for emby

Hi! I have an issue with this plugin spitting out errors non-stop on my Emby server and have been trying to find if that was something that was already reported and ended up on this PR. I've been trying to find what changes you made and whether that would also fix my issue before I try to make a fix for my issue, but the sheer amount of lines and files that have been modified in this PR make it quasi impossible. Please don't make a PR with ~1700 lines of code that have been changed for a fix that is probably ~10 lines.
