Are you open to a pull request that adds more default characters?
Thanks for the awesome software. I'm an engineer at Midjourney and I love how accessible you're making these new open source models. I want to chip in a little.
Would you accept a pull request with several more default example characters? My friend and I want to add a variety of example people -- like 5 or 10 total. We're thinking a mix of women, men, robots, aliens, etc.
We think it'll make the software more inviting for a wider variety of people.
I wanted to ask before we do the work.
Thanks a bunch,
Kendrick Taylor
Probably more audience on: https://www.characterhub.org/ or https://botprompts.net/
How about just changing the default character to a robot? Our goal is not to create more characters for fun, although that's a side benefit. The point is to make the software seem less weird and creepy for women when they download it the first time. Right now the first impression is that this is a piece of software that's exclusively for lonely dudes to use to have virtual girlfriends. Which is a perfectly fine use case, it's just not the only use case. So giving more options seemed like a solution that could make everybody feel good.
I think it's a valid point. Besides, it could be used as a template for new functionalities and demonstrations of particular behaviors. I built my own characters into it, so i think having more characters by default (even for specific LLMs as use cases) would be great.
I think due to the small file size of the characters it would be nice to have 5 -10 defaults for first time users but since they are downloadable no more than that. I'm thinking classy educational figures. (IE Socrates. Leonardo Da Vinci. Shakespeare. Issac Newton. Einstein. Sun Tsu. Blackbeard. Benjamin Franklin.) I think that keeping the defaults educational like that will help with the inevitable backlash from the Luddites.
The default is a gender-less "assistant". The single character is just an example character. Plus the default-default is notebook or instruct mode which has prompts.
